On the May 17th broadcast of OnStyle‘s ‘Golden 12‘, the staff members prepared a surprise event for Lee Hyori to celebrate her birthday on May 10th.
On this episode, after being told by the staff that they heard it was her birthday, Lee Hyori humbly responded, “My birthday is just the day I was born, [it doesn't mean anything more than that].”
Right after her comment, the lights on set turned off, and a video of congratulatory messages by fellow celebrities and friends appeared on screen. The stars who wished Hyori a happy birthday included the members of 4minute, 2PM‘s Junho, John Park, and best friends Ahn Hye Kyung and Lee Chun Hee.
Lee Hyori began to shed tears after watching the video and stated happily, “I usually don’t like these kind of things, but after experiencing it, it feels nice.”
Because Lee Hyori is known for her charismatic and slightly tough personality, her tears were especially touching for viewers as they showed a softer side to the star.

It was a party on the set of “iCarly” in Burbank, CA this afternoon (May 14) as the cast helped the show’s star, Miranda Cosgrove, celebrate her 19th birthday.
The teen stars including Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Kress and Jerry Tainor kept it a casual affair as they split a large cake and posed for pictures with the birthday girl on the Nickelodeon Studios set.
In other news, the hit television show has been renewed for its seventh season despite rumors that it would be cancelled due to other castmates receiving their own show deals.
Although the brunette beauty plans to go to college in the fall, she also will remain part of the Nick family while also ready to explore new roles, saying, “It’s hard to find something that’s a little bit edgy but that everyone can still watch. I’m waiting to find something right.”
Enjoy the pictures of Miranda Cosgrove and the cast of “iCarly” celebrating the actess’ 19th birthday on set in Burbank, CA (May 14).

Hi lovelies!
I had the day off from everything yesterday – work AND blogging because it was my birthday. Hmmm, don’t know how I feel about my birthday this year because I’m now 46 and well and truly closer to 50 than 40. I know a lot of you are a lot younger than me so I hope that doesn’t scare you off! There I was, driving around with my new Smiths (well, the ‘best of’ the Smiths) CD playing loudly, thinking I’m gonna be a rebellious older woman and embrace my age!!! Of course, thanks to my son (and the car radio) I’m not exactly living in a musical vacuum so I know who One Direction, the Biebs, Katy Perry and Carly Rae Jepsen et al are. Enough of the rambling, right?? You’re here for the polish!
I decided to wear one of my original favourite nail colours yesterday – something a little retro that reminded me of the late ’80′s to early ’90′s (that wonderful era of taffeta dresses, fuschia lips and electric blue mascara). It had to be something fuschia pink and I found it with another cute little cheapy Ulta3. Bouquet is about as fuschia as you can get, and it has that retro shimmer as well. This was good to go in two coats and I added top coat for extra gloss. This was the perfect loud manicure for birthday celebrations.

Rihanna has never been particularly shy about her choices, which might be why she decided to open her performance on Saturday Night Live with “Birthday Cake,” a song that received a lot of attention when it was revealed that ex Chris Brown appeared as a guest on the track. Mercifully, “Birthday Cake” segued into “Talk That Talk,” a relief because it’s actually an objectively terrible song, Chris Brown or no Chris Brown.
Rihanna looked beautiful and the set was engineered with a lot of distracting details, like the giant spiderweb backdrop, but she is generally…not the best to listen to live, and this performance was no exception.
You can see her perform in the clip below, via NBC:
